Lynn Lazaro – President
Hello, my precious club members, or strangers perusing through the site! I’m the almighty leader (still working my way to becoming the ultimate dictator), and I’m a third year anthropology major minoring in business. After I graduate, I really want to get into marketing or event planning for nonprofits. A little more about me: I basically live and breathe Anthropology Club, and care a lot about our members so just think of me as a human suggestion box that can also give you advice on career/academic goals. I’m really busy nowadays, but shoot me an email and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can! I’m always open to suggestions or questions you guys may have!
Mackenzie McQuide – Vice President
Hello fellow hominids! This is your vice president speaking. I am a junior double majoring in linguistics and anthropology with a minor in Spanish, who loves reading, writing, and watching movies to the point of obsession. I will be studying abroad in Chile this spring semester and I hope to study indigenous languages of South America sometime in the future. Feel free to contact me at any time if you have any questions or would like to get in contact with any of the other officers.
Stephanie Sanders – Treasurer
Elizabeth Allen – Secretary
I am a third year anthropology major minoring in cultural anthropology. My interests at the moment include ethnomedicine, the effects of environmental change and deforestation, agrarian change, sustainable agriculture and rural development. In the future I hope to conduct fieldwork in Southeast Asia and South America. In my spare time I enjoy hiking, biking, exploring (doing anything outdoors), practicing yoga, hoop dance, and reading. Within the next 2 years I hope to travel to Borneo or Sumatra to volunteer at an Orangutan sanctuary.
Safiyyah Bazemore – Historian
Hello there! I’m the club historian and an Anthropology major and business minor in my 4th and final year! I live for road trips, live music, and homemade vegan pizza. If you’d like to chat about anything at all (such as how one manages changing majors 7 times, why anthropology is seriously the coolest, or how make rad tea blends), don’t hesitate to send me an email!
